"Exotic Treasures at Phipps" was the theme of the annual wine-tasting benefit at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Oct. 22. The two-tiered party attracted 500, with Lou and Veronica Guarino of Louis Anthony Jewelers serving as honorary chairs and displaying a glittering selection of their gems. A portion of the proceeds went to Phipps, as did much of the ticket price. Foods from the Silk Route were paired with wines from Clos LaChance, donated for the 15th year by Kevin Piacentini, brother of Phipps executive director Richard Piacentini.
