State police are searching for a couple they said robbed and stabbed a Westmoreland County man and stole his pickup truck over the weekend.
The victim, Robert Biondo, 53, survived the attack. He was stabbed multiple times about the face, neck, chest, arms, wrists and hands.
The wounds include a punctured lung, police said.
Mr. Biondo told troopers he had been in his truck sometime between 12:00 and 12:47 a.m. Sunday on or near Ridge Road in Donegal, Westmoreland County. The couple, Travis Pollock, 27, of Somerset, and Emily Smith, 21, of Reading, had been in the truck with him.
The woman attacked him and the two suspects fled in his pickup.
The vehicle later was found by borough police in Somerset.
State police filed charges against the couple, including robbery of a motor vehicle, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, making terroristic threats, and theft by unlawful taking.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the whereabouts of the couple is asked to contact state police at 724-832-3288.
