VANDERBILT, Pa. -- A man has been jailed on charges he raped a woman who says she was sleeping deeply at her home.
State police near Uniontown say 30-year-old Daniel Torres, of Vanderbilt, acknowledged having sex with the 21-year-old woman Sunday morning while she was asleep and "unaware of what was occurring," according to an arrest affidavit.
Police say the woman told them she sleeps soundly and has been very tired from working two jobs and caring for her young son. Police say the woman went to a hospital to report the alleged attack after waking up and discovering evidence she had intercourse.
Police say Mr. Torres told hospital officials he was the woman's fiance.
