DA's office seeks to close Homewood bar after shootings

Mac Can Do bar in Homewood, the scene of several shootings, has been temporarily closed.

The district attorney's office is in discussions with lawyers for the tavern on Brushton Avenue to work out a consent decree that would permanently close the bar, said spokesman Mike Manko.

One man was killed and another injured in an Oct. 15 shooting; a man was injured in a shooting in April; and there was another fatal shooting in March 2008.
