UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ???- Penn State today was selected as one of 16 schools to host the first and second rounds of the 2011 NCAA women's basketball tournament.
"I am so excited for Penn State, the Bryce Jordan Center and the Big Ten Conference to bring the NCAA first and second Rounds back to Happy Valley," Penn State coach Coquese Washington said. "We have some of the best fans in women's basketball and to reward their support and loyalty with the opportunity to watch the first and second rounds is fantastic."
Penn State last hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament in 2006, but the 2011 event will be its 14th overall.
The 2011 NCAA regional tournaments will be held in Dayton, Spokane, Dallas and Philadelphia.
