A former nursing home employee in Cheswick was sentenced to two to five years in prison today after pleading no contest to one count of sexual assault and four counts of indecent assault of two male patients.
Allegheny County police said Marc Lane, 39, of Kittanning, assaulted the patients in wheelchairs at the Consulate Health Care facility on Saxonburg Boulevard. One, an 84-year-old man, was assaulted in March 2007. The other, a 65-year-old man who suffers from Parkinson's disease, was assaulted in April 2008.
Mr. Lane, who was accused of touching the patients' genitals, was arrested in May 2008.
Mr. Lane also pleaded no contest to one count of indecent exposure. In addition to the prison sentence, Allegheny County Judge Donna Jo McDaniel placed him on five years' probation, during which he must register as a sex offender.
