Question:
About the offensive pass interference penalty that called back the Steelers' touchdown - can you make that call when the penalty was away from the play? It doesn't seem to make sense, if the offense controls where the ball goes, and the ball didn't come in the tight end's direction, how can the tight end be called for offensive interference?
Nick Zaino, Lynn, Mass.
BOUCHETTE: I am a bit confused on this one myself. I've seen pass interference penalties waved off when the ball is "uncatchable" such as if it sails 20 yards over the intended receivers head and out of bounds. Surely, that rule should apply to the offense as well. Heath Miller was on the far right and the pass went to the left. Always good to get a question from Lynn, Mass.
