Beaver County doctor charged with 5 more indecent assaults
Wednesday, October 28, 2009

A Beaver County doctor faces a preliminary hearing next month in five additional cases in which he is charged with indecent assault against female patients.

Dr. Robert Knapp is free on $25,000 bond while awaiting the hearing at 9 a.m. Nov. 20 before District Judge Tim Finn in Beaver.

Dr. Knapp, 56, already was awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges that he molested a 24-year-old woman who was at his office July 9 for a thyroid treatment.

Five more women since have filed complaints saying that their thyroid treatment progressed to back rubs and groping.

Pending the outcome of the cases, Dr. Knapp continues to practice in Bridgewater.
