A 36-year-old man lost control of his SUV and was killed early this morning in a crash in Fayette County.

Police said the crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Route 857 northbound in Georges Township. The driver apparently lost control when he tried to make a left turn off the highway. The vehicle left the highway, went through a field and hit a wall at the Fayette County Area Vocational Technical School.

Police said the driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
