Indiana woman charged with drunken driving in crash with injuries

A 21-year-old Indiana woman was charged with drunken driving following a traffic accident Saturday that left three people, including the accused, with injuries.

State police at Indiana said Erika R. Brown was traveling on Route 403 in Pine, Indiana County, when she failed to negotiate a curve. The car crashed into a guardrail then rolled over. The accident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Ms. Brown and her passengers were found to be intoxicated. Ms. Brown was taken to Conemaugh Hospital by medical helicopter. A condition report was not available though police described her injuries as major. Two passengers received minor injuries and were taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center. Two other passengers were not hurt.
