The Piccadilly Herb Club will host a lecture on "The Importance of the Cocoa Plant" by Cindy Fink on July 16 at 10 a.m.
The lecture will be at the Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road, Fox Chapel. Admission is free, and reservations are not required.
The Pittsburgh Iris & Daylily Society will hold a juried daylily show at Soergel Orchards Farm Market in Franklin Park on July 18 from 1 to 6 p.m.
Daylilies, iris and hosta plants will be available for sale the day of the show beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
Six Cranberry gardens will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 18 for the Beautiful Gardens of Cranberry Garden Tour.
The self-guided tour, which will include a winner of the 2008 PG Great Gardens Contest, is sponsored by the Southern Butler County Garden Club.
At registration, ticket holders will receive a booklet with map, garden history and description.
Tickets will be collected for a chance on a door prize, and chances may be purchased to win a "Gardener's Delight" raffle basket.
There will also be an opportunity to purchase plants donated by club members.
Proceeds benefit club projects and local garden charities.
Tickets are $10 per person and are available by mailing a check payable to Southern Butler County Garden Club to: Toni Matson, 714 Sir Barton Court, Cranberry, PA 16066.
