A van collided with a sport utility vehicle on Route 130 in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, yesterday, killing two people and injuring a third.

Daniel Antoniak, 72, of Jeannette, was driving a Dodge Caravan east near Greggerson Road in Level Green about 3:15 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a westbound Honda Pilot head-on, Penn Township police said.

Mr. Antoniak was pronounced dead at the scene; his passenger, Ruth Antoniak, 68, of Jeannette, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Forbes Campus, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Honda Pilot, William Hahn, 58, of Pittsburgh, was taken to UPMC Mercy for evaluation and treatment of injuries police said did not appear life-threatening.

An accident reconstruction team is investigating.
