The Days Inn in Butler is being deluged with media inquiries today, and it's not because of the Monster Bash 2009 conference and film festival.
Rather, headliner Lou Ferrigno, who performed the title role in the 1970s hit television series "The Incredible Hulk," is being sought by media. Reporters are interested in speaking to the actor and bodybuilder about his recent post as physical trainer to pop singer Michael Jackson, who died Thursday. Mr. Ferrigno's wife had recently told People Magazine her husband was helping Mr. Jackson prepare for his return to live performing, scheduled for July in London.
A hotel employee said there had been numerous inquiries from local and national media but that Mr. Ferrigno's bodyguard instructed hotel staff to decline all requests for interviews.
The three-day film fest is to "celebrate" monster movies from the silent film era through the 1950s, according to a Web site for the Monster Bash 2009.
Mr. Ferrigno currently is scheduled to be on hand at the Butler festival between 3 and 9 p.m. today, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
