Allegheny River Boulevard reopens after crash
Tuesday, June 23, 2009

The site of a one-vehicle crash this morning on Allegheny River Boulevard has been reopened, Allegheny County dispatchers said.

An SUV overturned, knocked down a utility pole and tore down power lines at the intersection of the boulevard and Nadine Road shortly after 8 a.m. Police closed down the boulevard between Washington Boulevard and Nadine Road as they waited for Duquesne Light workers to replace the fallen pole.

Although a Duquesne Light spokesman said workers were still on site, dispatchers said police reopened the road to traffic.

Soon after the crash, a woman was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with minor leg injuries, dispatchers said.
