Canada Goose study searches for avian influenza antibodies

Volunteer Cheryl Schnitzer of Butler holds a Canada Goose tight as Whitney Kistler of the University of Georgia's Southeast Wildlife Study Group takes a blood sample. The wildlife study group is searching for avian influenza antibodies in wild geese. The Pennsylvania Game Commission captured 136 Canada Geese for banding at the Restland-Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery in Monroeville. 115 were banded; 21 were recaptures of previously banded birds.
