A party on the lawn and in the tented patio of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts was held to honor internationally known fiber artist Tina Williams Brewer Friday night. She was presented with the center's Lifetime Achievement Award after fans, friends and family had a chance to take in the exhibit of her work, "Guided by the Ancestors," and enjoy dinner and drinks. An African-American libation ceremony and a city proclamation (Tina Williams Brewer Day) among others, as well as entertainment, added to the celebratory mood of the evening. Ms. Brewer even made the dessert, her famous sweet potato cupcakes -- another kind of fiber.
