A North Fayette man was killed early this morning when the car in which he was riding crashed in the township, the Allegheny County medical examiner said.

Michael Swayne, 22, had been riding in a car that crashed at 12:56 a.m. after it went off the road as it rounded a bend in the 1000 block of Oakdale North Road.

The driver of the vehicle has not been identified.

Mr. Swayne was pronounced dead at 1:11 a.m. at the scene.

Township police are investigating the cause of the accident.

The driver reportedly was taken into custody. It was not clear this morning whether charges would be filed.
