Two Washington County men were killed last night when a pickup truck and a car collided in the westbound lanes of Route 40 in Canton, near Washington, Pa.
Howard Blaine Rood, 63, and Joshua Ryan Lowery, 23, both of Washington, Pa., were pronounced dead at the scene, according to county Coroner Tim Warco.
The coroner said the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when the driver of the pickup truck lost control of his vehicle while heading west on Route 40 near the Washington Crown Center mall. The truck then crossed the center line and struck an eastbound car driven by Mr. Rood, Mr. Warco said.
Mr. Lowery was a passenger in the pickup truck.
The driver of the truck, who was not identified, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian. His condition was not immediately known.
