Squirrel Hill man sentenced for selling stolen goods online
Wednesday, October 08, 2008

A Squirrel Hill store owner was sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $100,000 in restitution yesterday for selling stolen merchandise online.

Gennadiy Langer, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in federal court in June.

According to prosecutors, he sold merchandise that had been purchased with stolen credit card information -- or taken from vehicles in Pittsburgh -- on eBay, the online auction service.

The merchandise, prosecutors said, was obtained by Mr. Langer's associates.
