Butler

Mayor Maggie Stock swore in Jon W. Campbell as new city treasurer Thursday. Mr. Campbell, 76, is a public accountant. He has spent most of his life in Butler and has been treasurer of several organizations. He was the county's last elected register of deeds and recorder of wills before the office was split. He will serve as city treasurer through January 2010. Mr. Campbell replaces Ralph D'Antonio who resigned last month.

• Butler city council appointed James W. Kraus as the city's emergency management coordinator. In the fire department, Lt. Thomas S. Fair was promoted to captain and driver Michael F. Drushel was promoted to lieutenant.

• Larry W. Christy and John Mossman were appointed to four-year terms on the Butler Planning and Zoning Commission, and Michael Preston, Kent Bowen and Robert Dandoy were reappointed to three-year terms on the zoning hearing board.
