ROCK CLIMBING

Aug. 31 Laurel Highlands. Hike a short distance over easy terrain to reach climbing areas. Once there, learn about equipment, safety, how to belay and some of the necessary knots, then do some climbing and repelling. Perfect for beginners. BIKING

Aug. 31 North Side Art Bike Tour. Allegheny Commons Initiative and Venture Outdoors tour of art venues on the lower North Side. Tour weaves off riverfront trail and into historic neighborhoods with stops at The Warhol Museum, the Mattress Factory and Artist Image Resource. $10 registration.
