Fugitive Task Force nabs 2 in Arnold
Tuesday, August 19, 2008

The U.S. marshal's Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested a suspect in the robbery and shooting of a man in Penn Hills and netted a second suspect in unrelated cases after finding both men in Arnold.

Officers also confiscated a machine pistol and another gun yesterday after surrounding a duplex in the 1900 block of Kenneth Street, Deputy U.S. Marshal Tad Thompson said. Investigators went there in search of Reco Hall, 23, of East Liberty, who was wanted by Penn Hills police on charges of aggravated assault, robbery and firearms violations for a holdup and shooting June 3 on Hillside Drive, Mr. Thompson said.

Investigators, who had been searching for Mr. Hall for weeks, learned he was hiding with friends in the New Kensington/Arnold area, Mr. Thompson said. When they surrounded the duplex yesterday morning, they saw him looking out a window in one apartment and found him in the other apartment, pretending to be sleeping in a second-floor bedroom, Mr. Thompson said.

Mr. Hall also had been wanted since December for violating probation in Allegheny County, and Duquesne police had obtained three additional warrants charging him with assault in January, Mr. Thompson said.

Also arrested in the duplex was Isaiah Thomas, 23, of Pittsburgh, who was wanted in Westmoreland County for stalking, making terroristic threats, possession with intent to deliver drugs and failing to appear in court.

The cases that resulted in charges against the two men were not related, Mr. Thompson said. Both men were jailed.
