A Somerset County man faces a hearing next week on charges stemming from a July 3 crash that killed another driver.
The victim, Burt E. Reany, 64, of Chambersburg, Franklin County, died Tuesday in UPMC Bedford Memorial, state police said.
Mr. Reany was driving west on Route 31 in Harrison, Bedford County, when a car driven eastbound by Jack J. Jarosz, 39, crossed into his path.
Mr. Jarosz tried to run from the scene but was captured.
He was held in the Bedford County Jail on $150,000 bail, pending a preliminary hearing in Central Court Wednesday.
He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death or serious bodily injury, failure to render assistance to the injured, abandoning a vehicle on the highway and driving with a suspended license.
His driving privileges had been suspended because of a previous drunken driving conviction, court officials said.
