Starbucks in Station Square to close
Friday, July 18, 2008

Starbucks has begun identifying hundreds of locations that will be closed as part of the Seattle coffee chain's move to pare down its store base but, so far, only one location in Western Pennsylvania appears to be on the list.

A site at Station Square is among 21 Pennsylvania stores to be shuttered.

In addition, a store at Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, Ohio, is among those to be closed.

Starbucks announced in early July that it would close approximately 600 company-operated stores in the U.S. beginning this month and continuing through the first half of the next fiscal year. Employees in the affected stores have been personally notified, the company said.
