A Munhall man was arrested early today and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with the hit-and-run deaths of a motorcyclist and his passenger in Duquesne.
Robert Bartok, who is in the Allegheny Count Jail, was arraigned last night.
Mr. Bartok, 54, is charged in the deaths of motorcyclists Paul A. Schmidt, 26, and Kelly Vasko, 31, both of Greensburg. Mr. Schmidt was traveling south on Route 837 at Overland Street about 11:30 p.m. Friday when the motorcycle was struck by a motorist who left the scene.
Mr. Schmidt wasn't wearing a helmet. His passenger, Ms. Vasko, was wearing a helmet. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
