New Kensington man to stand trial for homicide

A New Kensington man who confessed to stabbing another man to death was held for trial yesterday.

Shaun Raisor, 22, will stand trail on charges of homicide, arson, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in the killing of Bryan Akers, 21, of Etna.

The incident occurred on June 21, when the two men got in a fight at the former Atlas Cement Plant in Penn Hills. According to police, Mr. Raisor picked up a knife, grabbed the victim from behind and stabbed him repeatedly in the upper body.

He later led police to the nearby spot where he had concealed Mr. Akers' body.

Mr. Raisor's formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 21.
