U.S. Open qualifier again delayed after heavy rains
Tuesday, May 13, 2008

The local qualifier for the U.S. Open was postponed again today because the Tom's Run golf course in Blairsville remains unplayable because of recent rains, said Jeff Rivard, executive director of the West Penn Golf Association.

The 18-hole tournament, in which 32 players are vying for two spots into a 36-hole sectional qualifier, has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

"It's not just a couple holes; the entire grounds are still wet," Rivard said.
