Maybe the garage is a little musty and you're ready for a bigger stage. Or maybe the clubs are a little too familiar.
Whatever the reason, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and post-gazette.com want to help you find your spotlight. That's why we're launching Pittsburgh Rocks -- a kind of battle of the bands in which voters get to decide who's ready for the next level.
First prize: A professionally produced music video. You'll also get an Arts Fest stage to showcase your music, and the second- and third-place finishers will open the show.
What we'll need from local bands is a photo, bio and mp3 file of an original song. What you'll also need is as many votes from your fans, family and friends as possible. The voting will take place entirely online, and the final count is what will determine the winners.
We'll have more details for you shortly, so you'll want to watch the paper and Web site for a formal announcement. Until then, keep the amps cranked.
