ERIE, Pa. -- A man strangled his roommate's dog with a belt, then confronted the owner with the dead animal, police said.
Willis Evans, 21, of Erie, apparently killed the small mixed-breed dog early yesterday morning by wrapping a belt around its neck.
The dog's owner, who lived with Mr. Evans, got home about 1:45 a.m. and found Mr. Evans standing naked inside holding up the dead dog, which was dangling from the belt, police said.
The roommate told police that he ran outside and that Mr. Evans followed him asking the dog's owner why he was mad at Mr. Evans.
It was not immediately clear if Mr. Evans has an attorney.
He remained in the Erie County Jail on Thursday, unable to post $15,000 bond on charges of disorderly conduct and animal cruelty.
