ATLANTA - The Pirates today recalled catcher Ryan Doumit from a minor-league rehabilitation assignment.

He will take the place of utilityman Jose Hernandez, who was traded last night to the Philadelphia Phillies for cash. Doumit will be in uniform for the series finale against the Atlanta Braves.

Doumit, 25, had been out of the Pirates' lineup since June 5 because of a torn left hamstring. He batted .172 in his nine-game stint, going 5 for 29 for Bradenton of the Gulf Coast League and Class AA Altoona.
